torque converter help

hey im new to DTR..but not new to the hp bug.. ive got an auto tranny and with all new power upgrades i have the stock converter is slipping at low rpms.. do yall have any suggestions on the best torque converter for the price? or is there a kit out there that i can put on the tranny to help keep the converter locked up or is a new converter the only way out?

thanks Asa

Welcome to the DTR!
Do your research on here for what suits your needs, but a TC and VB should be installed together. Your stocker is done for.

I just got my Goerend Brothers converter in and put the truck in the shop to have the tranny rebuilt and upgraded. I added stage three nozzels and the napa converter did not like the inj.. And at almost a 100,000 miles I figure it is due.

It all depends on what you get and the condition of your tranny. Do a search. Lots of threads about different types of converters and results, etc.

You will get a noticable increase in power to the rear wheels. Dyno #'s....don't know, but SOP feel when accelerating is definately there!
Agree with above...never do a TC without a valve body.... and your TC is shot.
We (CTD owners) are blessed with 3 great, competing aftermarket tranny companys.... DTT, Goerend & Suncoast. Do your homework, make your choice, and you'll be happy.

Race your buddys from a dead stop... use 4x4 to launch... and they will never touch you. If on the hwy, lock out OD and start at 40 mph (if 3.55 rear end) for best results.
