A lot of people are probably thinking the same thing.

Tyler.....SO im guessing you did all your testing with thoes clear lines like a told you to try a few months back?

I hate to even bring it up....but you do have some mileage on that VP......

AND i have heard through the grapevine that there is a new VP that is going to be coming out soon that puts the HRVP's to shame......they actually rework the plungers and barrells (Larger) in this unit i have heard......

Stainless Steel Steering Shaft Stabilizer - it's also a sway bar drop mount for those with lifted/leveled front ends. I installed the prototype on my truck last year... everybody needs one!

SSSSSs for the massssses!!!

Did they redesign the diaphram? Is it still the concensus that it's the weakest link in the VP-44?

I discovered a 1/4" boost leak yesterday, so the Quad Race testing w/GN in tow was flawed... with the Quad connected but not turned on (boost fooling only), boost would reach 34psi; on Level 1 it would reach 37psi.

After I fixed the boost leak, fooling-only gave 38psi, and Level 1 is now good for 41psi ( ) - wonder if more fuel is going to raise that further... I'm already supposed to be in the hot-air range of the turbo!

p.s. EGTs didn't raise as much as I thought, and LP pressure gets down to 5psi now.

No dan I haven't but it's on my list of things to do. Right next to test the tranny pressures for james. And yes I know my vp is getting old and I have a feeling that it's the VP going out on me that's causing it. Can't complain to much. 129k miles and over 100k of those have been tapped. Would also explain my low power numbers.

I would expect so. It does for everyone else.
Never seen an 05 turbo up close, but I can tell you from my experience with an HY-35, when you get to the expansion boost pressure (from overheated air) instead of compression boost... you can feel it fall flat. It just stops pulling but the boost continues to climb!
With the weight of your truck I would expect it to be very noticable?

Interesting observation. I got rid of the stock fuel filter canister and replaced all the lines with the lines from FASS and I've gained 1psi in fuel pressure and it doesn't drop near as quickly. Now if I could only get these dang fuel pressure gauge fittings to stop leaking I'd be in perfect shape for the track tonight. Otherwise I won't be able to race. Oh yeah. In the process of installing the fittings I broke the boost signal hose off of the controller to water/meth system. I think somebody is trying to tell me something.

So my drag comp worked for about a week before it started messing up. It decides whether or not it wants to turn on or off. I can't run the smarty on odd settings even if it "appears" the comp is turned off or it runs and idles like crap. When accelerating from a stop it doesn't seem to get any fuel until 2000 rpms or so and when you disengage the clutch and give it throttle sometimes you get smoke, sometimes you don't. However if you unplug the comp from the map and canbus you can run the smarty on odd settings without problems. Edge hasn't emailed me back yet....what a great product..

Finally got a decent 1/4 mile time. TST on 5, smarty on 3, zero boost launch, 14.6 at 96mph. I tried another run with an 8psi 2wd launch and I pegge the rev limiter through 3rd gear before it caught. And that was with me peddling it. My buddy with a sweet 3rd gen (TST, Crazy Larry, killer b2 turbo, billet DTT) did a 10 psi 4wd launch on me on the first run and I was even with him through the 1/8. He ran a 13.6 at 97mph. I now know that my truck is a deep 14, maybe high 13 second truck. I'm just happy I didn't break anything. My pyro was pegged from the 1/8 on. A 1/4 mile is a long time with your foot on the floor. All in all I'm very happy with my turbo and injectors. They run incredibly awesome. I can't believe how fast my turbo lit off. I'm very excited right now.

Good job Tyler!! Where do you think you would dyno now? Certainly over 500 right? What is your bud with the 3rd gen dynoing at?

I dunno what I'll dyno. I should be over 500 but I shoulda been over that a while ago. I'm beginning to think that those BD's just weren't working right. My truck flat out hauls. Point in case, an 8psi launch on the street with the 155's and the tires would spin for a second and then hook and haul. At the track with traction compound, an 8psi launch pegged the rev limiter in first, second, and third and that was with me letting off and getting back on it.

I don't know what my buddy with a 3rd gen is dynoing at. It should be in the 500's.

Pyro pegged for 1/8th mile? If you don't put out the fire, you'll be going home on a slow trailer.
