Glad it went well.

That's funny, Ryan - I was just talking to Robert a couple of hours ago; he wants one of those SSSSS in black steel just like the one for your truck!

Great minds think alike?

P.S. Do you think you'll be ready for it by the 21st?

Justin I'm thinking mach 4's would be the biggest you could go and still tow with. Definately don't wanna get the injectors I'm running for towing.

Yep I wouldn't go over a 150HP for towing... Without twins I don't know how well I could tow heavy (12K+) with my injectors... With twins it's all gravy...

The consensus from both Doug at PDW and Rip is that I'm a good fit for Mach 4s. Basically any towing would be with Smarty only and TST off. The TST would be there for the unloaded fun factor (or the light load).

I somehow don't see anything called "DragonFlow" being used for towing. Smoking out your load so you don't think anything is behind you, yes...but not towing.

Sounds about right... I normally have to turn my smarty down to 3 or 5 when towing a good sized load... upper level just are a PITA to deal with with a stick and a load... Gets to jumpy at low RPMs...

Yeah, especially when you have a stripped intercooler boot that blows off over 20psi. Talk about smoke and egt's. Yesterday was one of those days. Blew the intake manifold gasket, broke the heater grid gasket, bought a new connector tube to fix my hard start and that didn't work, and unknowingly until in the middle of a race that I had stripped my intercooler boot clamp. The only thing I didn't mess up when I touched it yesterday was the cooking and the beer.

Just purchased a new intake manifold gasket for my head... Was a lot different than the one that was originally on there... Was much thicker and had almost a rubber feel to it.... It hasn't seen over 25psi yet so no idea if it works as good, better, or whatever...

I actually got mine from o'reilly's. It was $5. Came with a wierd looking metal ring that they gasket kit called intake manifold gasket plug washer?

Yall got any ideas on my hard start? This is driving me nuts. I've replaced connector tube o-rings, 1 connector tube, replaced all of the line from the pump to the motor, and replaced the over flow valve. I've got no fuel leaks and no fuel on the head anywhere and there's plenty of fuel going to the injection pump.

Welcome to the "I'll Figure it Out Someday" Club.
Don't bother with a search. There are as many different solutions as there are members. None worked for me!

Most deal with warm engine hard starts. Mine has always been just cold starts... and only after my tank is 3/4 or less ???????

Mine is only after is has been sitting for a while. Cold, hot, full tank, 1/8 tank. I know it's gotta be bleeding down somewhere but I dunno. I've been told that there's a check valve in the VP that can stick open and lose prime but I dunno. I've got this problem, my buddy eric has this problem (although his is worse than mine) and you've got this problem. There's gotta be something here that we are missing.

Wish I had a $100.00 for everytime I said that one.
Does the bump....prime for 5-7 sec......starts right up, work for you? Solves my problem.
Good news is...not a leak and does not affect performance!
