Brian, I'm bringing a surprise for you to Sedalia, so you might have something to wrench on after all...

Rowland, I'm excited to watch your rear end closely as you lift from WOT on the dyno to see how many thousandths of an inch of compliance are left in the rear half of the plates in the spring pack.
I like surprises!!! except for the oil/water mixing type!!

P.S. UPS just showed up at the office with my Smarty (and I've had the Quad Race on for a couple of days), so now I'll try not to destroy the truck... I wired in the water/meth & nitrous this week.

So far, I like how the Quad Race - when "off" - allows the boost to go over 36psi; it really softens up the hard defueling from 2900-3000rpm, and got rid of the boost "spiking" that the stock ECM causes without changing throttle position.

Level 1 (60HP) feels great! and the truck has lots more pep - raced an Audi A6 from a stoplight last night on the way back from piano, and he kept up until I grabbed 5th gear - so I just lifted and coasted, since I was already over 70mph in a 40 zone. Evan loved it, but I told him not to ever do that in the '98!

The rail pressure gauge is priceless in watching how these fueling mods work - very educational & informative!

It's humiliating...how little I know about 3rd Gens.... as I'm about to prove!
Mike, Isn't your turbo an HY-35 deriviative?.... and therefore maxed out at 36 psi?

What's stock rail pressure? How low can you pull it stock?..... and with race quad?

The '05 turbo gets to ~32-34psi stock; after the intake & exhaust mods I did, the ECM kept it under 32psi, and started the fueling/boost "spikes" that are evident in the dyno graphs.

Quad Race has a boost fooler that works as long as the box is connected, even if it's "off" - it allowed 36psi with the stock fueling. Level 1 (60HP) was enough for 38psi.

Stock rail pressure was around 15Kpsi cruising, and it was very hard to get it up to 23Kpsi... Level 1 made rail pressure increase much sooner with throttle position, and it'll reach 25Kpsi no problem now.

So far, I haven't been able to pull down the fuel pressure or rail pressure.

I'm hauling supplies out to the shop today with the GN, so I'll try to get some honest testing with good #s at the different settings on Friday on the "quarter mile".

Did not realize 'box' would increase rail pressure... That is very cool.

It increases rail pressure "sooner" (which has the effect of advancing timing) and allows it to max out higher.

Quad's uses a little bit of every technique to make the power they do, that way they don't go with too much pressure, or too much fuel, etc. Great, now I'm back to the low end of the totem pole for power. And I bet by the time I have enough fuel to make the power, then I'll run out of clutch.
I'm open to donations for the "My Truck Fund"
But at least I still made more horsepower stock to stock than XZLR8R (even if it was only like 2hp, but remember mine is a 305)

Speaking of oil, I'm due for a change and will actually be about 1000 over for that weekend. Hey rowland, would you mind getting me some of your super special oil so I can swap oil up there?

Actually, I'm holding a Mustang dyno sheet from Dec 16th that shows my truck (with bone stock fueling) generated 300 HP and 701 ft-lbs of torque...

OK, everyone else can lock & load (flame suit on!)

Ah, but on the same dyno on the same day I ran more hp than you. LOL

11 qt Jug of our NASCAR/Nextel Cup Oil (but in 15w-40) coming just for you!! (with special 'low egt' additive).
But I'll pour it on the fire if you forget my cooler & freezer pack again!

Mike, Unintentional... but I played pretty good 'straight man' for you on that Caltec torsion bar thread....Huh? Set you up to chime right in! All had to be impressed when you got to the "monocoque car body" line!
Those guys will be scrambling to check you Gallery about now!

Tyler.....those are end of reel pieces from our bulk hose reels. AND they put the tape on there to mark the end for the reel. I wasn’t aware that there was a hose connection under the tape or i would have warned you. Now we both know! haha.....

Here ya go though....

Alright, recommendations time.

Trying to find a suitable size of injector to upgrade to. Whatever I go with, I need to make sure I can still tow. With the DD2s/KSB1, I can still tow on Smarty 7/TST 4, so I figure I have some room to play since I could turn the TST down further or off with the new injectors?

So what do you think, what would fit well?

Are we talking this Friday, or the Friday of the Dyno Day in Lewisville?
