Kyle, Same here...very nice truck!
Could not resist the peal out on departure .... anyone say anything?

Hope you can come to Sedalia (April 21st) and meet everyone in the N Tx DTR Club...even if just for the day?
Were always working on someones truck there...good place to get some help installing those new boots? Lot's of help around....and Charlie, Rob and I are excellent supervisors.

Or at least come to Lewisville for the ODRA Dyno Day.

Thanks! And thank you for letting me drive yours. The twins are way cool!

I may make it by the Dyno Day, but I'm not going to run my truck again on a dyno without new boots (on order). And there is no way I'm going to run the TST any higher than 5 without the head studs. I cannot figure out why my engine was torquing over so much and yours was not.

One of the runs with the TST on 6, the HP ran through 421 and the torque through 800 before the RPM sensor blanked out and the boot blew off.

Got ya. Did I tell you BD's engineer said they always put their boost probes JUST before the Secondary turbo... on the cool pipe itself!
I'm guessing that's how he came up with 26 max psi from secondary... with cooling down & expansion?? Would love to see delta between primary outlet and secondary inlet.... if your interested?? Probably not.

No one said anything about the peel out because we were all standing there with faraway looks of lust in our eyes.

Brian, since you're using 30W instead of moly lube to install the studs - aren't you supposed to add ~15-20% to recommended torque value?

Should be detailed in the ARP instructions.

Brian you can get moly lube at o'reilly's.

Got the steering parts installed. The drive from the barn to the house was nice. Very responsive. I'm getting ready to head back to school so I'll let yall know more then.

Wow that steering setup is nice. Incredibly responsive. Truck tracks better than it ever has. I love it. Now to go and install my new injectors.

Well guys she runs again!! Took a LONG time to do... Making sure to keep everything clean, and not damage anything.... I will post pictures when I get them, didn't have my camera so used my friends... Hopefully they came out ok....

Only issues I ran into were my helper losing my heads banjo bolt washer, so I have a slow drip until I get to a dealer today, and one of my secondary bolts didn't get tightened down very well causing a very annoying sound!!

It's a PITA keeping boost low... Have to until this weekend when I can pull it apart again readjust the valves and retorque the studs using the Moly Lube...

Ug.. Don't want to do that ever, ever again... Still mentally and physically dead.....

I would imagine that it was an absolute nightmare but don't you feel better knowing that once the final retorque is done you can hammer on it all you want and not worry and that everything was done right and all the little problems got fixed.

Forget to reread the Service Manual? It specifically warns - "Remember there are TWO washers on the back of the head"

At least dropping my fuel tank is off the top of your "Never Again" list.

Congrats on getting it done. I feel for you!
I remember a 13 hr day getting mine back together, and my helper (actually I was the helper) had done an even dozen of them before. Try not scrapping a freshly decked head while getting it to drop down over 26 studs (the older 4340, black oxide studs that have to go in first) with no clearence under the cowl!
But I'm sure you had your 'fun" times during your install also.

Bet it's great to go for a drive....Ah?

Oh it feels so good to have it done and hopefully not worry about it again (will still be puckered the first couple 60psi runs!!)... Ya we had one washer but he dropped the other to never be found again...

Definitely topped the never todo again list!!

I'm so ready to lay into the go pedal!!! Been driving the quarter million mile LX450 around and it makes me want to .... Now I'm driving the de-rated version of the Dodge and it's better, but still!!
