Well I cought this post by surprise but if im gonna be in town that weekend I will try to be there but I might have to bring my baggage and the rats if there is no babysitter avaliable. Im pretty darn sure I wont have the truck either since at the end of Jan. I have to drive it to Oregon pullin' a 24' ft trailer with a failin' clutch and the job will be 8 months long and I will only be here every couple of weekends so I will have a better schedule after I get to OR. I fly back and forth every 11 days so its definatly hit-or-miss kinda deal. Be warned Ive got 5 kids between the ages of 3-10yrs old so there aint no cheap diner for me anywhere you guys pick would be fine.

Alright, now that we seem to have a firm date and time, I can go to work on The Boss to let me out of the house to come meet everyone in "meatspace" (as the cyberpunk books call it).

Quite a few things for kids to do there.
Give em a can of stink bait and point em towards the ladies department !!!!
(That will be the point that us guys conveniently step outside to look at the trucks )

I will if she wants to come, but I'm betting she won't. We get a card from her ex-boss every year, whose wife works at AMC Theatres' corporate office, that lets her and one other person get in to any movie free. She drags me to them all the time despite my whining, and then makes the absurd claim that we "never go to see movies," so I suspect she might see this as a good day to catch up on a few.

I don't know if I'm just getting old and cranky, or what, but I can't hardly stand to go to the movie theater anymore. Nobody seems to have any manners at all. There's always someone who brings a screaming baby, usually several cell phone conversations at one point or another, and apparently I always pick the seat with the Kick Me sign on it.

I might be wrong, though.

This doesn't have to do with this GTG specifically, but you guys know that the 4 Wheel Jamboree will be at the fairgrounds in Springfield on May 6th and 7th. They have truck pulls in the arena. Maybe we can have another GTG at that time. If I have my diesel ready, I will compete in the truck pull and I will also be competing in the mud bog with my big Ram. I'll be there on the 6th only (Saturday).
I'd definitely like to get together for a dyno day or drag strip day!!!!!!!!

It's not just you, I'm only 23 and I can't stand going to movie theaters either. Kids **** me off. I literally go in, ask how many kids are in the movie I want to see, and if there are a lot, I will turn around and walk out. It's just not worth having to put up with their crap. Talking, laughing about things not involved with the movie, cell phones ringing, popcorn flying, drinks hitting the ground and soaking my boots or my wife's purse, constantly getting up and down, etc. I just want to punch every single one of them.

My better half will be with me as well. We do all of the diesel stuff together as well as our horse and mule training we do for 2nd income and fun. Neither one of us are into movies unless it's old westerns. We do the Rodeo or PBR thing or we go trailriding for entertainment. A dragstrip day would be great and I might be able to make arrangements for a dyno day later as well. The track is under new management and I haven't met them yet. I would like to try and talk them into hosting a diesel dragrace and dyno day at the track some afternoon this Spring once I learn more about them. And of course we could throw a little BBQ into the mix with that meeting.

Gee, sounds like us here.. but the BOSS isnt into the deisel thing, I am just finaly getting her to check her own oil in her gasser
The dragstrip/Dyno day idea would be a great activity if we get a local chapter going. JFpointer is working on it now I beleive.

It's at the intersection of Sunshine and Campbell. I'm not sure what part of Kansas your from but whenever I go over to Floor It's place in Lawrence I always go up through Clinton Mo and over through Harrisonville. If you come down that way just stay on 13 until it turns into Kansas expressway and go until you see Sunshine and take a left and drive until you see Bass Pro. I wouldn't mind having a gtg and dyno day at my place sometime. I've got a pond stocked with cat and other fish that the kids could fish in. We might could have a fish fry along with the other activities if I sat out a trot line the day before.

You'll know you are at the right place when you see the huge parking lot in front of a 30' leaping bronze stag !!! That is the nature museum ... BPS is right next door. Can't miss it.

I hear ya ... I am one of those guys that drives by landmark. I could make the trip one time and have it locked on for life ... but couldn't give street name directions if my life depended on it. Hope I never need to guide the VFD to my house .
