Ohioans to Fall Brawl?

Hello all, SmokinDog and I have discussed getting some Ohio muscle and attending the Fall Brawl at Kauffmans in Dillsberg, PA in October. Would love to have a convoy over, spend the night, and head back Sunday night. The Mason-Dixon chapter has invited us, which is awesome. Please post if you can make it, and we will start making arrangements. M-D members have first dibs on dyno time, but hopefully that will not be a problem. Time to put some names with the faces we have been reading!

How far away is that from the central OH area. And some more detail on the event please.

Thanks,
Nick

Ooo... I would love to go. Just wonder if the truck will be finished by then. Otherwise we may have to put a dmax on the rollers instead. Did you want me to ask the ohio-ians on dieselplace.com if they want to pool as well?

Dillsburg, PA is just shy of Carlisle, PA. It's East Central and will be a decent drive for those of us in the Columbus and Cleveland areas. It would probably be a good idea to meet somewhere around Pittsburgh.

Brandon, I don't see why we couldn't bring all our buddies, I say the more the merrier! Not everyone will be able to get on the dyno though.

Dillsburg is just about 100 miles west from where I live in suburban Philadelphia (Chester County), about 10 miles north of Carlisle and near Gettysburg.

The exit for Route 15 (Gettysburg Pike) is number 226 (or therabouts) on the PA Turnpike, as they number the mileage from the Ohio border, if that's any help, so, yes, it will be a bit of a haul for you Ohio guys, but worth it.

Folks, if you want a great day don't miss this one. I was a member of MDTDR until I moved south a couple of years ago. The Kauffman's are great people and the people Hammer (Andy) gets to help him do the extras are fantastic.

As always, if you bring a few trinkets or beads to put into the prize pot, you'll feel better.

I'm really tempted to come up from the Florida Panhandle (990 miles). Hell, you only live once.

I just figured out the other day it's got the 4 cylinder version of the VE bosch pump. It smokes now. Then I figured out that Dillsburg is in the Harrisburg area & I have friends there. It's looking good!

edit: What time does it start Saturday? It's about 3 hours from Pittsburgh, right?

The Kauffmans usually open up around 8, the noise begins pretty soon after that.

Careful you don't melt the pistons on that VW or you'll be walking. Got a pyro yet? Hook a boost gauge to an oil gallery and it'll be almost like driving a Cummins.

No pyro, it's not turbo'd so I really wouldn't mind replacing the current powertrain with an early TDI.

You need a stack! Or at least a 4" turndown tip put on upside down.
