Starting to look like I will make it for sure after all...
You had a seized piston too???
Thanks there Sat!!!!! dont jinx me!!!!!!!!!!
HOME AT LAST !!!!
Finally got in to Springfield yesterday afternoon ... just in time for it to turn cold hahahaha.
Looks like one heck of a menu getting fired up .... I like the sound of venison along with ribs and fish (of course I am starving so it ALL sounds good to me right now !!). Not too sure about the turtle and skunk, but what the hey ... I have eaten things overseas that would probably make a billygoat garp !! Anyone willing to bring side dishes ?? Probably doesn't have to be anything fancy ... some storebought tater salad and beans or some jello salad or something like that would be great.
I'm gonna try to talk Mrs. Pistol into making her "World Famous" lasagna and possibly her BBQ pork sammiches too. We can pick up the sodas for all the kids (please fire me an email as to what the preferences are). *** Since this will be a "family" style GTG it will be a BYOB if you want any adult drinks.
If noone objects, since we have a few folks traveling a fair piece to get here, we should probably make it a early afternoon thing with us meeting up as early as 1200 and planning to eat around 1300-ish (1:00 PM for you non-military types). Feedback ????
Weather permitting (and I really hope it cooperates), this will be held out in the corner of our orchard. I will have that area mowed down and taken care of best I can to keep the ticks at bay for the day ..... that being said, please keep in mind that this IS the country and there are lots of creepy crawlies out here. Light colored clothing and bug spray with DEET will help keep things enjoyable.
More to follow .... got chores to do

Buffalo? Yum did I hear someone say buffalo. That's good eating right there. I'm about out of venison backstrap so all I have left in that area is ground venison and venison summer sausage. The only way I know how to clean a turtle is to lift it's tail and wipe so I'm no help in the turtle department. But I'm sure I could bring up a mess of BB'Qed armadillo.
Between me with a pistol and my German Shepherd we have been killing loads of those critters this year. A side dish of Morels would go good with all this wildlife. That is if there's any left after the cold spell.

Alrighty then ....
!!! Mike's in charge of campfire stories !!The kids brought home an alligator snapping turtle last year and that thing stunk to high heaven !! Wouldn't eat one if I had to.

Mike, I'll trade you pound for pound on some ground bison for that summer sausage....have to get some Colby-Jack to go with it tho....
Morels are rare around here this year, the cold snap ruined what should lhave been a great year for them..
diced taters with some canned 'shrooms and chopped up peppers and wild onions go pretty good with vension or buff.......

Hey fellas .... got a request thru the email yesterday from a guy hunting for parts. Maybe one of you guys has a connection that can help him ... if so, let me know and I will fwd the info.
PISTOL
I’m located in IL, just south of St. Louis. I see the local St. Louis chapter is halted, whatever that means. I am looking for some Cummins parts. I need a complete A/C setup, mounting bracket, compressor, and lines. I also need an air inlet and filter system. I am working on a 4bt conversion. I thought there may be guys in the area that had some spare parts.
Thanks,
Tom

Well you can alway do like some of my relatives and bring "your spare ribs". Not that we would eat "your ribs" but at least you brought something.
Hey Pistol do you have a cooker for fixing the fish outdoors. I can borrow the one I use for turkey but if you have one there I'll just bring a tank of propane and the fish and fixings. Chris, I've got 2ea of the 2 1/2 pound sticks of the Jalopeno/chedder cheese venison summer sausage left. I'll throw one on the table for everyone to eat and trade ya the other one for buffalo if you want.
Map?
PW... maybe i missed it (wouldn't be the first time), but you may want to work on getting a map together... also, i live south of STL if anyone has parts to be delivered to the guy needing A/C parts, i'll volunteer
hopefully i'm still game for coming... i'm replacing my LP this weekend as well as the relo kit

love venison sausage....
Pack, sounds like we need some side dishes. If mike is bringing fish and sausage, I will bring about 20 lbs of diced taters and peppers....
Maybe yo can find a couple dozen ears of sweet corn?
that would just about fill out the menu!
then a couple of the guys could volunteer to bring some paper plates, napkins or paper towels and cups( hint-hint
)Ok, just to make sure we are kinda organized, what i am seeing so far is:
Mike: a meat dish or fish?
ChrisReyn: skillet-taters..and whatever else he can scrounge up( not gonna bring anymore meat, sounds like Mike and PW got that covered)
PW: supplying some cool-aid type drinks and lasagne/BBQ
is that accurate so far?
I'll bring the cups, plates and napkins. One or two deer steaks and 3-4 bags of chips.
I was at Floor It on Wed. and John said they were takeing the dyno to Ozark Diesel anyone know about this?

Mike,
I located the frying pot ... just gotta find the burner stand. I am discovering a lot of my "stuff" isn't where I left it ... thanks to dear son and his nug-head buddies
. I'll hunt tomorrow ...
And yes ... I will be heading down there soon to use the welder ... just haven't got to that project quite yet .... Mr's Pistol's kitchen got moved up a little higher on the "to-do" list
.
Yeah ... I s'pose a map might help, huh ? stand by ... one will be up soon.
I am going to try to get some large benches put together ... but it might be wise to toss a couple folding chairs in the back of your trucks as well.
Hope the place dries out by then ... actually got a little hail this evening.
