Just got back in for the night. Chrisreyn hope you made it back ok, that accident was right in your neck of the woods hwy 68 and hwy 75 junction. Found out when we got up there that their little 5year old boy was also in the van but only got a broken leg. I spent part of the last three days keeping him occupied with games and movies and carrying him to the bathroom.
Sound like it was a good time for all. The food must have been good for the people as well as the ticks. We've been staying at my parents and the ticks like my kids too.
Funneral isn't till Thursday, so I've got to go back up tomorrow to help.

Glad you folks had a decent time ... I was really hoping that y'all would take the rest of the ticks home with you ... for snacks or something .

I will be putting the pics up in a few minutes ...

Sorry that Darin and Chris weren't able to make it but there is always next time. We have the June event that Mike is putting together at the drag strip in Rogersville and there is possibly something brewing in the interim ...a crawfish celebration down south in Pack Mules neck of the woods.

In the meantime ....
For those who are interested, the 10th Annual Ozark 4Wheel Jamboree is going on May 5 & 6 at the Missouri Entertainment & Events Center (used to be called the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds) in Springfield. Gonna have Bigfoot and Grave Digger duking it out (again ) but there will also bea Tough Truck competition, burnout competition, mudbog and rock crawl, Show & Shine, and best of all ..... the Miss 4-Wheel Jamboree contest !!

Stop by O'Reilly Auto Parts to pick up a coupon for $2.00 off gate admission.

Thanks again for breaking bread and spending the day with us,
PISTOL

Here's a link from the local paper. http://www3.ottawaherald.com/ottsub/...007wreck.shtml

Hope you folks are handlling the situation OK. Life is but a vapor. All things that seem important take on a new meaning when something like the occures. We have to be right with God, as Bill Graham would say.

I think the family of the lady in the van will have her funeral at a small church in Rantoul, Ks. That's were i go to church, but I did not know them. If you're up this way and need any help of any kind drop an email or call.

I couldn't make the weekend 'cause I had 42 squares of shingle to attach to a roof after removing 2 courses of old ones!! Sounds like it was a good time. Weather turned out like a special order up here.

Darin, sorry to hear about the accident. that is a really bad intersection, ther ehave been numerous accidents there, tho it sounds like this one wasnt related to the intersection itself. If there is anything I can do, let me know..

About 1 1/2 years ago a friend and his wife were riding their Harley to Topeka at about 9:00 in the morning. Just east of 75 on 68 about 1/8 mile. A deer jumped out in the road. When they collided he was thrown to the asphalt and slid down the highway over those speed ripples. He remained conscious. He reached for his phone but it was ground off as he slid. He said at least 2 vehicles drove by him while he and his wife lay in the middle of 68 highway 1/2 dead.

A sheriff "happened by" just at that time, and pulled over. They both pulled through it.

It's bad enough getting a "raspberry" on the gym floor, but I think of what it would be like sliding down the highway, over the grooved slots in the road, reviewing your life in milliseconds.

Just got back. Everything will be ok for them. Just a few bumps to go over, and some to forget. Thanks for the offers of help. I may take you up on that later.
