i personally think jay should stuff a 12 valve in there and do the hell out of it. that would be cool. ya i think i seen that new mega cab stuck out there. we had some guys ask us during the day if me or my buddy could come pull them out. and we asked what they had. it was a mega cab, basically stock he said. but i wasnt gonna wheel my truck.

even if you went you wouldn't have been able to pull him out. it was stuck BAD. He was in the back of the gravel pit, front end dropped out of sight in some kind of quicksand....but with rocks. he flated BOTH driverside tires. and we didn't peel his tires off.......the were both flat when we got there. Churning in the rocks sheered his valvestems.

As cool as it would be, theres couple reasons why a cummins up there would not be a good idea. weight and RPM with the trucks current setup and intended purpose. need RPM for wheel speed in the goo.

I ordered new personalized plate for my Dodge on Friday too...........HAZMAKR

That wagon looks good. Much better when its not in a dark shop.

Any who, heading off to work today. Talk to you guys in 6 weeks or so. Jason, I'll give you a call when I'm done out there. If you hear from me sooner, I'll probably need a tow. Take it easy!

ya but i still think it would be cool. besides, u dont need high rpms to make good power. with a good tranny behind it, that thing with a cummins would have no problem spinnin the tires. ur probably right about gettin that guy out, he told me that he was behind the gravel pit where little red deer trail comes out. i just bout rolled my old sami there a few years back. besides i dont like wheelin my truck. last time it was there, it came home with about 6k in damage from sliding back down a hill into a tree.(was tryin to help a friend.) O well leson learned.

Oh don't get me wrong it would be cool no doubt and it could turn the tires no problem too I have no doubt about that. but its got to be able to hit 5-6K rpm to do what it needs to do, like clean the treads. and doubleing the weight on the front diff won't help anything either. I've got a Cummins out of a '94 in my garage, its been discussed to death already. low RPM not so good for a mud truck. not so much about power, more about wheel speed. you can't regear a 2 1/2ton rockwell toploader. they come with 6.72:1 and thats it. nothing else availiable.

.......and thats exactly where he was sunk at. it was like bottomless rock soup.

Morkable...

How did the test and tune go???? I might actually run my 98 on the 26th. Put in a 0 plate and my water meth and go for broke. Problem is I will probably break something!

Well I got back late last night,, didnt get to run the dodge, parts didnt show up til 4:50 on friday. So I ran my new duramax. Man that thing is fast. I was totally stock except for either an edge evo or a diablosport predator. (evo = 100hp, and diablo = 120 hp) ran 14.6's all day long with the diablo, and 14.7's with the edge. This with my 300lb 5th wheel hitch in and my tool box that is totally full of junk. Needless to say I was impressed. I think that if I just pulled out the hitch it would be 14.3's and the tool box 14.1's. (this is calculated by figuring out the times with either my gf or my son in the truck with me). But I am pumped about fsj on the 26th. I am really hoping for some low low 12's or high 11's.

Kevin

Ya i c the point. But ill tell ya, if i was to do another bush truck, i would do a cummins in one in a heart beat. My 03 does awsome in the mud for wheel speed. i can get 4 gear if i need to. But ya i guess a well built 440 would be a good choice. But if it was gonna be the ultimate with a gasser, he should get a BBD Hemi 426. There onlt like 12000 carb to pan and thats 650HP.
