Worked over P-Pumps arent cheap....stockers arent $$ like they used to be...

Of course they have everything done to the pump and include a plate. I'm not a p pump expert. People keep talking me out putting one into my truck. Most people that do the conversion don't drive there trucks afterwards. Make tons of power for dyno and drag racing. Like I said they gave me a good sales pitch. I'm tired of smoking everyone out on the way home from work. To much stop and go traffic here in Calgary for big slow spooling turbos and big sticks.
Unless you have the chace to drive a P-pump converted truck - its kind of hard to answer those questions eh?
Ive always heard that you lose the "drivability" with a p-pump conversion but at this point, its just hearsay...

For my $0.02, a P-Pumped truck with the extra fueling is going to be even more of a smoke machine than a VP44 truck. With electronics and tuning you can more closely match boost to fuel rate. When you have springs and things having to move to make power, you either have a little bit of laggy feel to the P-Pump or its all on power right away.
I think the P-Pump convert is usually (yes Tate I know you are doing it) for the huge power guys that have tapped out all the fuel they can muster out of the VP44. I think some tuning of the current programs and tinkering with the turbos may get you some better low end boost and get rid of most of the large amounts of smoke. FWIW...

Actual I've been thinking about almost stock. 35/3b combo running the mach 4 and just run the smarty. That should fix the smoke but the drive to and from work will a slow go. I've even thought about getting a decent single but its hard to give up on the twins. Harry at PDR still put down a 700rwhp pull in his truck. I might not even spin the tires any more. This will save more $$$
No. I am staying on location for this one. High profile with a potential for +/-50% sour, so co. rep. wants me staying close by even with my night guy on tour - he gets to sleep on location as well. It takes some planning to leave to get groceries as well - have to consider nights with the least operational chance of stuff happening, get what you need, and get back type of deal on this one.
Oh well, the crews are great and willing to learn, so it makes the job way easier.

working in +%50 sour gas, you must burn your cloths once you get home. I'm remember working with some wells nearly that sour up by FT Nelson. My pick-up smelled like sulfur for months. Thankfully it was only a 318 pick-up so it wasn't a big loss. I sure don't miss working with the nasty stuff. I have a soft chair in my office downtown to drive to everyday.

Tried to put in the Dana 60 in the ol' Powerwagon and got drenched!!! What a downer...
