Well, got to the track out here in PHX, AZ a little late and well past it's prime for the night. Couldn't hook for EDIT at all. Did get a best mph though even spinning like crazy, and with the bottle of 13.11@112.47mph with a sorry EDIT 60ft. of 2.47. Sea level correction by the way on that run is 12.98@113.1mph. The elev. here is 1500ft. Heck, I couldn't even break into the 12's at all. And to make it worse, dozens of people were hovering around me saying "man this this is insane, wish you were here earlier when the track was hooking".

Oh well. Gotta wait till spring and make a go at it again.

Told yall that turd was SLOW

That sucks. I know I have said it time and time again, but that truck needs SLICKS. Add some slicks and some traction bars and that thing would SCREAM even louder than it already does!!!! Come on Street, order them and make that thing hook up!

As you know, I'm taking donations......................................... .as those things are running $280 a pop!!! I'll prob just slap the DR's on 1st and see what it'll do with just tires. Then fab up the ladder bars with Dmax sometime therafter.

I know you can make math do whatever you want, and there is more to getting good times at the track. But, if you simply just deduct my normal 60ft. times of 2.0 away from that 112mph run, it would have been at the minimum a 12.6; most likely better. But oh well.

I did ask the track manager after they closed about why things got slick right past the launch pad, and he said they didn't prep the track anywhere past the 100ft line b4 the test and tune session, because they allready had done it earlier that day for a West Coast Hot Rod Association event they have going on this weekend and didn't think it was needed.

That bites!

I don't suppose they offered to refund you entrance fee for wasting your time, did they?

Well, I hooked up the Smarty yesterday.
First thing, it tells me I got a P0216 code - which goes real nicely with my occasional "dead pedal" syndrome and screwy dyno run. My injection pump has given me "notice".

I went ahead and set the tire size and put 'er on level 9 anyhow. I'll plug in the GPS and check my speedo on the way to today's Dr. appt. I wanted to at least get that done (check & clear codes, step up power, and set tire size) before I messed with updating the Smarty software - which I just did. The update appeared to work, so later today I'll plug it in and test the new "anti-theft" level-0 mode.

P0216 is an injection timing error. Can you fix or replace just the electronic portion of the vp44?

maybe you can convince Jack and Lary I aint such a bad guy. haha...

I do not think I am the best member in their eyes for some comments that I made a while back. Thing is I see comments about other brands on here everyday, and I just say oh well, guess they got a red box for that one too..

I can't speak for how they feel but numerous times Lary has stated, and proved, that he is a forgiving guy. Trust me, if he had a problem with you, you'd be the first to know. Happy, you're no different than anybody else here. All you have to do is play by the rules, that's all they want. If you ever see anything that you think is out of line, hit that little triangle in the upper right corner of the post and fill in the blanks, we'll do the rest. If you need me, you've got my numbers. Rick

Yeah I know about the triangle, i have used it before, but I just don't think that making a joke about other brands as long as it is clean is wrong. That is one thing I got in trouble for, and the neg remark just said, useless banter... You can't tell me there aint a lot of that on here.

First off let me assure you that NOBODY here thinks you are a bad guy, neither Jack nor myself harbor any ill will toward you in any manner what so ever.

You made a couple of comments about another brand of vehicle that could only be taken as confrontational by other members. We want you to voice your opinion here, we just want you to do it in a manner that doesn't start an argument and get the whole thread shut down.

For an example I had to remove a comment from another fellow here a few days ago it was simply "(Other Brand) = POS". A comment like that in a running thread about about that other brand WILL draw fire from the owners of that brand who had up till then been having a good discussion with owners of all brands.

The only thing a comment like that can guarantee is that the thread will fall apart and have to be locked down. The funny thing is that same thread had already been closed multiple times on the site that specializes in that brand, but here on what is mostly a Cummins site, it was 98% friendly discussion and going strong.

We don't want this site to be viewed as though any person driving something other than a Dodge, will be hog tied and run off the first time they open their mouth with a legitimate question.

This forum is about sharing information and not bashing each others choice of vehicle. The comment you had removed was not the same as that one, but similar enough that it could also only cause the thread to fall apart when tempers flared up.

It was removed NOT because of your opinion, but because of the manner in which you said it. We welcome all opinions here as long as they are respectful of the other members, that is the very basis of our forum rules.

You can easily make your point that you dislike Brand "B" without making it look like you are challenging a guys manhood just because he drives a truck with a different emblem on the hood. I am not saying you did that, I am merely trying to make a point here.

Say what you have to say, do it in a courteous manner and you will not have to be concerned with infractions or posts being edited. That is all we ask of ALL the members here, including ourselves.

We know that sometimes you make mistakes, I have had a few posts of my own removed because they didn't fit the guidelines here. I used each of those instances as a learning experience and try to do better as I move on.

Thats what we want you guys to do as well, no hard feelings intended when your stuff gets edited. Just try to learn from it, and don't sweat the small stuff.

The guys that have problems here are NOT guys like yourself that make an occasional mistake, we see that as normal. The problems come from those guys that can not deal with being told "No" so they spend every effort trying to be a PIA on the forums after they receive a warning.

They eventually succeed at being a bigger pain than they are worth, and get sent packing. Often acting as though they have no clue why even though they went out of their way to be a disruptive influence.

I surely don't see you in that category, but I mention it only in hopes of making you see the bigger picture. We just want the forum to flow good info without a bunch of trash talking and brand bashing that only takes away from the very thing that brings us all here

At DTR we don't care what brand you choose to drive, we just want everyone to get along and reap the rewards a forum like this can give to us all.

Happy, you are a valued member here, a simple slip up does not change that, nor will it in the future .
