Wow!!! The ever present and allmighty Larry Ellis has paid us another visit. What do we owe this aperance to? I suppose this is attributed to the post a cople months ago and yoou need to keep an eye on us more (lol!) .

I will be the 1st to say that Larry is fair in his judgement most of the time and, even if you feel he's not, usually a simple pm or three or a call can do wonders to clear things up. Now, if I can just get him to forgive Dizlpower and reinstate his membership??? I know it's asking alot, but he was only defending me from what he thought was a directed personal attack on me from you Larry and didn't know what was going on between us thru the back channels.

Wow, That was some good reading there. I think after talking to Diezel that he will NOT be on here again. I think he took his defending a little far in my opinion.

Thanks TOP you never know it might have come in today after i left for work. One good thing about it taking a little while is, that I get a pass on washing my truck until it gets here.

Hey John, so how are things going with the SMARTY? Have you packed it up and stuck it under the seat, or is it growing on you??

Unhappy Sudden loss of power brakes & steering....

There I was, just backing out of a tight parking space, trying to get away from the planter on my right side and avoid the cars parked behind me - when I felt & heard this "pop" and my brakes and steeing went away.

I haven't even looked under the hood yet, but I searched DTR & TDR forums, and the closest match to my symptoms seems to be that I may have sheared off the drive-coupler between the power steering pump and the vacuum pump. But until I investigate further, that is just a guess.

Anyhow, I called my wife and had her meet me at the hanger, where I left the truck. Baskin Robins folks forgot to give her a spoon, and her ice cream was melting, so I didn't have time to check *anything* under the hood of my truck.

Man prospector all that extra power had to go somewhere. Hopefully it will be an easy fix.

What extra power? I have the Smarty set on "1" to see if it really does get better fuel economy!

Just thinking out loud but if you lost the drive coupler between the power steering and the vacuum pump, wouldn't you still have your power steering? Maybe you just lost the belt or tensioner. Fingers crossed here.
