I assume the truck does have Hydro-boost brakes? If so then yes, you will loose power steering and power brakes. Prospector, I have some practice getting that PS pump off and if you need help let me know. Its a bear to get at for some people.

 

I haven't tried it since the new updates, but really don't like the original to begin with. Can't run it all day every day on max setting. But we'll see once the new updates are downloaded.

We just stopped by and popped the hood. No oily mess - so I'm figuring the hydroboost accumulator didn't blow out the nitrogen. I'm still thinking it is the drive coupling between the vacuum pump and the ps pump. If so, the broke part is on the vacuum pump; and I've got almost 150,000 miles on the ps pump which doesn't have a good reputation. I figure I'll probably need to replace both. Where can I get a good deal on this stuff? RockAuto.com ?

Hey Prospector, if you get back up and runnin were you planning on making the dyno day out here? Why I ask is I have a 5th wheel tail gate layin around that I don't need. Not sure if you could put it to use or not.

 

I had thought about it and hoped to be able to; until I saw the date: Saturday, March 17th.

I'm not sure about the 5th wheel tailgate either. I sure do miss the one that was laying on my car trailer when it got stolen; but I keep hoping I'll sell the 5th wheel camper, then I won't need the tailgate anyhow. But If I don't sell that camper soon I just might decide to keep it. I might need that tailgate yet.

 

Well, it's just too cold to work on the truck. We're driving the Subaru to Florida this weekend. The wife got Friday off, and Monday is President's Day - so she got a LONG weekend and we don't want to waste it.

Hey, I'm wondering if anyone here is willing to volunteer to take my truck over to the dyno day the TNDTR boys are throwing next month, as I'll be going back to the Philippines for a couple weeks and won't make it. Free use of the rocket truck and I'll even help out with the fuel if someone takes me up on this offer. I just want to know what the think puts down with the new notrous system.
