trip went great, trailer towed perfect i appreciate it. yeah its just sitting in my back yard between 2 trees lol. And no warranty on it i have 140k miles on it now. I mean i could pay to have it done but wondering if Scott could let me use the lift, pull the tranny out to get to the seal.

Tim how sure are you that it's the main seal? Could it be a blown freeze plug or head gasket? Are you sure it's engine oil and not ATF?

for sure its engine oil, cause i can add oil and drive my 8 hour trip for work and check my oil again and its pretty much empty. I made sure it wasn't blow by, did a couple of blow by tests and everything looks fine, i don't have anything coming out of the oil fill cap or the tube when its running. When i remove the inspection cover on the bellhousing darn thing is filled with oil.

the only other thing i was told to try was the oil pan bolts, i just had to retorque them to 21ftlbs, the rear ones were all about 3/4 of a turn loose. Not getting my hopes up just yet but ran the truck for 15 minutes and don't see anything dripping yet. Driving to WV again today so that will be the true test.

If its filling the bell housing, it sounds like a rear main seal. You can do it without pulling the motor out, but it is just as much work either way.

Have you checked to see if it's leaking out of the valve cover?
Need to pin point it. Don't wanna drop the trans for no reason.
The Cave is available this weekend. I know John wants to get his AD in his truck too.

Hey Scott
If we're making a list, I have an A pillar EGT gage to put in and a DSS front bracket to put on. But I'd say repairs have priority. I can lend a hand Sat AM.

Scott,
How does Saturday afternoon sound. I need to drop Johnny off at a Halloween party at 2pm and I can come up after that...

Just test drove the truck for the first time.. Popped lower drivers intercooler boot and need to repair that. But it ran real great before that..
