Read the whole thread, while they are guilty of having a horrible lawer or IT staff to protect their emails, they are not all those bad words people are calling them. Sounds like someone had a serious axe to grind with them though. Never thought there would be so much DRAMA in the diesel world.

i ran my smarty jr on 100hp all the time, so it really didnt bother my truck

how in the world do you toast a flex plate it couples the crank to the TC, thats like saying you spin your tires alot and it fried your driveshaft.

Lately it seems transmission prices have come down due to competition, its more like $3550 for a built tranny with TC and VB and if you want a billet input its $650 extra so $4200, this was the cost when I was inquiring last anyway.

It isn't so horrible really. You start out slowly describing to your wife how you found out the tranny isn't so strong on these trucks. Then every once in a while you mention "gee I wonder when the tranny will break?" Eventually she'll buy into your talk and then you can just tell her to start saving. One day when she is in the truck, you turn up the Smarty and make her slip, she'll feel it, and say "gee I better save more money quicker" then you get a new tranny! Viola!!

Unfortunately you may have to drive it broke for a while until she comes up with the money

It's all good. I had a goal to make it to 100k miles anyway. I'm only about 3k short right now. Another month and a 1/2 and I'll be at 100k. It has good days and bad days, but as long as I drive it gently it works great. Honestly I'm only worried about towing come spring, so as long as I have the new one by spring I'm good.
