Yes. It's your turbo. Ain't it Cool?! If you think that's loud, you should hear mine (and others) 2nd Gen trucks. Mine rattles at idle and whistles out nice and load on the highway.

My Diesel

2007 2500 MegaCab 6.7l 6 speed...purchased 9/07 and now have 28,624 miles. Have new turbo, several ECM upgrades. Overall average for city and highway driving conbined is 17.4285 mpg. I don't tow. I drive a lot of miles, I wanted something around me, and also the diesel engine longivity.
I don't like buying fuel, but I love my truck
