wont start

My truck will not start. I can get 1 rev out of it and then the starter dies off. I put a voltage tester and have 12.4v at the batt and when grounded on the block I have 12.3v. I tried jumping with another battery that I know is good but it does the same thing.
I need to get to work, any help is appreiciated,
Michael

Thank you in advance

Sounds like a bad starter / solenoid? Anyway to take it off, run it in and have it tested ?

I found it. It was a bad battery. I changed it to the extra car battery I had and it started right up.

Thanks,
Michael

I made a set a while a go using welding cables and ends... The are plenty big enough to start my beast. I have never had a problem before. I brought the old batt. to BatteryMart and they claim three cells are dead, so I'll be looking for a new battery- but I'm not paying them $160 for it.

$160?!! Is it gold plated? My last battery was half that.

Unless your pickup has a bigger batt. tray than mine, it wont hold a truck batt., I've tried.....twice

If your air die grinder with a cutoff wheel happens to "slip" and cut the end out of the battery tray , truck batterys will fit that's what is in our 97. 1200 CCA a piece.
