White Smoking at Idle

My truck smokes white smoke while idling. No white smoke under any other throttle conditions. The idle smoke is pretty excessive for idle, but once I touch the throttle, it appears to stop. If I rev the engine, it stops for only a few moments then starts again. It starts as quick as a traffic signal wait. Oil change did not help. Anyone with IDEAS?

Fill out your signature so we can tell what you drive, what year, any mods, etc. Before any of that, white smoke normally indicates a bad injector/injectors. Have you checked your oil? Smell like diesel?? Just a guess.

Wink simple stuff even for new technology

white smoke is nothing more than air in the lines....

possible causes too can come from :

some or all bad glow plugs

plugged or restricted return line

insufficient fuel supply

some or all injectors bad

incorrect pump to engine timing

low compression

bad injection pump

rarely- incorrect engine timing

howz Dat?! sorry for the expensive scary stuff but good to check them out an blow air through the lines.

a cracked gasket can do that too especially in what you describe....

Two injectors bad for me. They also did a white smoke reflash. It helped some but didn't get rid of it entirely. I start using some 2 stroke in my fuel and it doesn't do it anymore. I'm starting to suspect the ULSD being the culprit. I don't have any evidence supporting that suspicion other than it quite doing it RIGHT after I put some in.
