Water pump?

Was driving home from work this morning, check engine light came on and temp guage jumped to 210. The serpentine belt came off and water was dumping out from front of motor. Does this sound like water pump went out, and if so , has anyone replaced and know cost.

Re:Water pump?

Find a water pump here for about $68.
http://www.dieselinjection.com/products.html
Just scroll down. They list for $120 from Cummins if I'm not mistaken.

It could be the water pump. Is it seized or something that made the belt jump off or did it just overheat? If it seized or the bearing has play, it could cause your problem.

Usually you get a warning by water coming out of the weep hole on the side of the water pump.

Re:Water pump?

Looks like the bearing seized, thanks for the info. on the pump. I have replaced my share of water pumps on gasoline motors but never a diesel, looks about the same. I guess Im about to find out , thanks again.

Re:Water pump?

Not the same. This one only has two bolts and you don't have to disassemble the front of the engine to get it off.
