I suppose the same could be said for the cab brake lights as well. IMHO I would take time to look all of them over real well and replace any that are brittle or cracked in any way. Better to look them over then to let them do damage you are not aware of.

OK, here's the final outcome.

Picked up my truck today at 2pm. Here's the work off the dealers work order:

R&R right side scuff plate, kick panel, carpet and pad, L&R wipers and plenum grill.

-Sealed plemun seam
-Sealed floor seam at fender wall
-Sealed A/C drain
-Cleaned A/C drain
-Dryed carpet

-Replaced pad

Work performed by Leak Masters out of Port Orchard and the rental taken care of by Tacoma Dodge. Pretty good warranty service in my opinion.

This should serve as a warning to all those with '02 trucks I guess. My dad's truck underwent the same treatment and with almost identical results.

If you have any questions, give me a hollar.

Later

I'm with SFtopSGT and I hope you both didn't spend a bunch of money to have it leak again. I was at my wit's end trying to locate the source of that same problem. Was at the dealer about to order all the door seals on passenger side when the parts guy told me about the TSB. I pulled that rear light out and sure enough there was evidence of water. A good bead of clear sealant around the lip of the lens and we've had some pretty good rains since with no signs of flooding the passenger side.
Re:WATER IN CAB!!!
I ain't no Einstien, but has anyone given thought to the evaporator core box and the drain stopping up? Since it is linked to the cowl and if it rained, the water has to go some where. My wife and I where delivering a pump in southern Ms. 2 months ago and ran thru a frog strangler of a storm, a few minutes later she said my truck was peeing on her foot.
Re:WATER IN CAB!!!
They did check my rear light (in my presence) with no signs of water. But, that's not to say it didn't contribute to the problem.

On both our trucks, the cause was the same, sealant issues on the floor panels.

I hate leaks and rattles!
Re:WATER IN CAB!!!
My truck was leaking throught the firewall via the ac condensor (I think). The water was seeping out of the drain, then back in along the underside of the drain through the firewall and the seal. I think this what was causing it. To fix it, I put a piece of hose on the drain with a hose clamp. This extended it out far enough away from the firewall for it to drain. There was no rain, and the light fixture was dry. I could be wrong, but it hasn't gotten wet again. Hope this is usefull. -cwbronc
