wait to start

wait to start

wait to start light doesn't alway's come on at first when it does'nt i have no tach,speedometer,dosn't charge and a/c clutch. going down road comes on and every thing work's then next miles or so everything quit's again can you help me out. ???

Could be a bad ground. Suggest that you post your truck details in your sig at the bottom so that we can have a better chance of advising you.

First thing to do is track down every electrical conection you can, clean it and put on some die-electric grease. You can get it in a tube at any parts store. If this doesn't cure it, it will at least prevent further problems that WILL come up. When metals are mixed in an electricle connection (which is the case with Dodge), you will get corrosion regardless of how you take care of the truck. If some of your grounds are shorting, this can become dangerous too, could cause a fire.

thats pretty much what mine does too!!! only mine is a 1997?!?! hope we can figure this out!! I am pretty convinced it is a loose connection/ bad ground/ worn wire because when i gun it and and everything shifts it works and sometimes when i hit a bump it will work then hit another and it goes away ???

Thank you all for replies,also thank's diesel resource for support. Had time to check out hot wires today cleaned and tightend all to grid etc. fusable links look bad but 12 volts past, every thing worked good after till hit washboard's then lost tach etc. but for just few second's then back to norm this evening lost all again on ruff road stopped and wiggled wire's at relays then hit relays with pliers everything ok since will work on tomarrow if it rain's tonite wiring on this truck is a mess splices,tapped into and so on a/c was nice while it lased cool. have a nice weekend all. twister..........

that was my thought ,pull all relays and fuses (1@ a time) and check/ clean contacts on them and the female end too.
loosen and retorq the big ground connections on the eng. I think there are 3 [about 15 mm bolt].

Thank's Thumper 549 I replaces some bad hot wires solder'd all relay's looked bad so spayed with simple green every thing work ok again for a while so I've narrowed problem down to relay's at conection will redo main ground and fuses hope I get solved soon thank's.
