Trying to install new turbo

Do I have to remove the oil drain tube from the turbo and leave it on the motor or is there a way to get the metal tube out of the block?

This is on my 05, its different then the 03s back!

Thanks CRIS

unscrew the top hose on the turbo, then use a 10mm deepwell 1/4 drive ratchet with a few extensions on the two screws on the oil return line under the turbo.

We just put an HTB2 on my 03 yesterday and all we did was pull the hose off of the metal tube. We did not remove the tube from the engine. We had a heck of a time getting the turbo on mine but apparently the newer trucks have a little different design and it should go on pretty easily. The actuator on mine kept hitting the motor mount keeping us from getting the studs on the manifold to go into the holes in the turbo mount..

The first call I made was to tim and we talked about your truck and mine last night. Yours is like a 2nd gen with a rubber hose by the block with 2 clamps. Mine has a hard line that is pressed into the freeze plug hole. I don't want to break that line.04.5 and newer are different.

I couldn't fit my SPS66 to the manifold because of clearance issues between the frame crossmember and the compressor housing. What we ended up doing was removing the passenger side motor mount and using a forklift to pick up one side of the engine. More than enough clearance there
