trying to install a remote starter
trying to install a remote starter
Does anyone know the color and location of the tach wire for my 2002 Ram? I checked 12volt.com's chart and couldn't locate the wire they specified (black/gray @ passenger side firewall. I suspect that may be a for a gasser.
Re:trying to install a remote starter
You can get a module from metra I think they supply it anyways that sits on your alternator its like a magnet that sticks to it and reads tach signals this keeps from cutting into the tach wire on our trucks.
Re:trying to install a remote starter
Thanks for the suggestion Jamie. That sounds like a slick item although I wasn't able to find one after multiple searches for metra products. Anyway, I found my tach wire (right where they said it would be btw) it was just hiding with about a hundred other wires in the loom. I did the tach rate programming thing but afterwards when I try to engage the remote starter it blows one of the 30 amp fuses that came with the starter. The fuse is the one that goes to a constant 12v source to supply the control circuit and ignition 1 and ignition 2 relays. Anyone have any ideas about how to solve this?
