truck won't start water drain
UPDATE: Thanks for checking, I went outside with the intention of bleeding at the injectors, and the truck started after 4 secs cranking.
I decided to drain some water out of the fuel/water separator (don't know if there actually was any). I let the pump fill it back up, loosened the banjo bolt on the output side to make sure there was no air. I cranked it, it started for about 5seconds, then quit. It has not started since. I've cranked it about 5-7 times for 10 secs, and nothing. I've bled both the input and output of the filter housing and still no luck. Is there something else I need to bleed. Is it possible that somehow air got into the lift pump, is it possible to bleed that out? Or, do I need to somehow bleed the lines at each individual injector.
I do not have a fuel pressure indicator (the top of my priority list), but the pump is obviously pressurizing the filter.
How is this supposed to be an "every time you fill up" maintainance operation? I've been working at it for about 45 min. now.

I live in the arid west, get good fuel and haven't opened my drain even once on either of my trucks for over ten years. Never had the WIF light come on either and am certain they work.
