Re:TRUCK WONT SHUT OFF !!!!!!!!!
There are several threads on the board related to this topic. I, myself, have started a couple.
I replaced my solenoid several times and later found out that none of them were defective. I'm not saying yours won't be, it's just that there are many other factors that could be it.
Check your relays. Replace the Auto Shutdown Relay.
Check the power cable (blue) going from your battery to the PCM (I think). Mine had a blown fuse causing all of my problems.
Check the voltage going to your solenoid.
And lastly, it could be your solenoid. In my opinion, this is one of the worst designed features of the engine. I know a lot of people that have problems with these. However, the solenoid itself only consists of the plunger with a spring and magnet inside... so there is not much to go wrong with it. Nearly all of the time it is due to outside sources.
Oh, and if it does turn out to be your solenoid and you would like to get a replacement without paying $400 at the *******, let me know. I have a brand new one, unopened, I'll sell you for $150.
Hope this helps.
P.S. Stephenville, eh? That's my future home! I'll probably see you around someday ;D

Re:TRUCK WONT SHUT OFF !!!!!!!!!
Should be on the driver's side of the engine near the middle if it's in the same place as the 12 valves. It may be hard to see, but it looks like this:

http://www.dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/tro..._solenoid.html

Someone chime in if they know otherwise.

I don't think the 24 valve's have a shutoff solenoid.

Since the pump is electric instead of mechanical, once you kill power to it (shutting key off) it stops pumping and therefore the engine stops running.

phox

Re:TRUCK WONT SHUT OFF !!!!!!!!!
Something tells me I should have bought a 24 valve then. 99.9999% of my problems with my truck thus far have been concerning this darn solenoid.
It has cost me over $1500 in unneed repairs :'(
Seems like the dealers around here don't know how to diagnose a problem as well as most the people on this board.

Re:TRUCK WONT SHUT OFF !!!!!!!!!
the first sign of trouble with mine and I'll be changing it to a choke cable, the tried and true stock international dt466 engine way of doing things.
Acts as a good theft deterrant as well.
