sorry about the spelling, but i was in my truck putting another switch in the dash, right next to overdrive button, had to take the switch out of over drive spot and i accidently grounded out the wire,,, is there a fuse that i am missing while checking them or what?? i looked at the fuses and thought i checked them all but could have missed one.. please help!!! ???

 

doodah,<br><br>The overdrive switch is not fused according to wiring diagram, One lead goes to the Powertrain Control Module, The other lead goes to Transmission Control Module. Both of these are micro electronic devices. Did a hot wire come in contact with one of these leads?<br><br>Have you driven the truck since then? Is shifting OK or are you missing overdrive now?

 

i took the truck out and it shifts fine and the switch works fine.. it is just the light in the button does not come on with it off.. what happened was i had the switch off the plug in and i happened to have a ground wire come into contact with a hot wire on the conector, so the button wasnt even on the connector when i did it,, but when i went to see if i had juice to the button, it didnt... but the button will kick it out of over drive when pushed, and will let it back in when pushed again...

 

so it is just the light in the button that is not getting juice..
