as said before, check neutral switch and/or clutch switch and key switch. you gotta get pwr to solinoid.

mike the shop said that the contacts were gone out of it.they charged $38.00 to put them in.

do you know any part #(s) for the clutch switche or the nutural switch?

 

do not know part$ on 2000. is your a auto or stick. on my 92 ctd and wifes 95 psd(computer) you could jumper then to check but not sure on electric cummins diesel. would not want to fry computer. someone will chime in

I think timmay2 is on the right track,i'd check that neutral start/clutch switch..since you checked the fuses and relay allready,my ma's truck acted up last week,blew a fuse,and I took the starter apart,nothing apperent wrong,put it back together and no more problem...another unsolved mystery

 

GOOD NEWS went and got a neutral safety switch and it fixed the problem. Auto Zone had one a guy did not pick up 2 weeks ago. said they usually had to order one. the order # is 293248 it cost $63.00. THANKS TO ALL WHAT A GREAT SITE!!!!!!!!!!!!
