Long way from a mechanic... Slow To Start Now Will Not Start: 98.5 2500
I am brand new here and signed up because I am looking for diagnostic advice. My truck has been slow to start for a couple months, and last night it failed to start altogether.
Symptoms:
1) Longer and longer crank time before starting, coupled with occasional starts that don't crank so long. Still, not like it should be. I'm used to it cranking for a second or so, not three, five, fifteen, or more.
2) Recently, upon starting the engine would sometimes give a bit of a hesitation - a "burp," then run normally.
3) It cranked until the batteries failed last night.
4) I used Torque on my phone to gather fault codes. The first one is "P0122: Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Low Input"
Here are the other three:
P1693: [Chrysler] Tachometer Circuit Low Voltage
P0336: Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance
P0234: Turbo/Super Charger Overboost Condition
Other things to know:
1) I charged the batteries overnight. They are now strong.
2) The truck is mostly stock. It has 171,000 miles.
3) It has an Airdog lift pump.
4) The VP44 with a rebuilt last fall.
5) I live a long way from my Cummins mechanic (250 miles). He has not picked up the phone. Not sure why!
6) The truck seems to run fine once it has started.
7) I cracked the front fuel line last night while my son cranked the engine. Fuel came out.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

I've experienced air in the system in the past, but solved it pretty easily by cracking the front fuel line during cranking. I'll try that again, now that my battery is up. Not sure where to start looking for a problem. I installed a "Draw Straw" so I think I'm good at the tank. The rest of the connections, etc. look snug. Is there a classic culprit?

How much fuel you actually have in the tank? You know those fuel senders are notorious for going bad and reading incorrectly...I would dump 52 gallons in and see what happens before I went too deep into it.
