Truck stranded no start

Truck stranded no start
The truck, 2004.5 3500 6 speed, 275k
The situation, drove 30mi, fuel light came on, filled up and no start.
It's 20 degrees out, but the truck is kept in a non heatede shed and always started with no problems even below zero.
I got a ride home and grabbed my scanner and some tools.
No codes, coolant temp was 19 and intake temp was 23.
I thought with the fuel low maybe there was water or ?? in the system. I have a Baldwin 5 micron in the stock housing and a Cat 2 micron after the stock housing.
I took the line off the Cat and put a clear hose running to a pan and bumped the starter. The pan filled with green diesel, about a quart or so.
I looked at the fuse box, not really knowing what to check?
Not sure how to check the fuel heater, but I would think after driving 30 miles and shutting it off for ten minutes that it would still start.
I'm pretty good with a wrench, diesels aren't my specialty.
From here I don't know what to check?? Fuel return plugged?? High pressure pump??
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks Jeff

Is it cranking as fast as normal? Low temps and a weak battery make turning over fast enough for good compression difficult to attain.
My other thought is that you've got a bad injector that's finally showing it's true colors...
Any performance boxes/chips?

When truck is a no start try capping injector lines at rail until you find injector causing the no start. Or if you have tool to do return flow test that would be A+ in diag your problem.

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!
Also try removing the return pipe from the pressure relief valve on the rail and see if any fuel comes out while cranking. If there is fuel, it may indicate a bad valve. If so, just to get you home, plug the valve, but do not stomp on it for that drive.

Thanks,I hate to start a new post but I only had 1 to catch a train.
I wanted to get it home before I left.
I had time now to search and have a game plan when I get home.
Thanks Jeff
