Arrow transmission help!

I have a 2001 Dodge duallie that has an automatic transmission rebuilt about 6 months ago with a heavy duty torque convertor and a sun coast valve body. The problem is that it is hunting for a gear, either in overdrive or not? Does anybody got a suggestion?

This sounds wierd but, it got worse when I changed the fuel filter before the Fass pump. Im going to change the hose clamps around the filter to make sure there is no air leak, and change the regular fuel filter.Could a possible fuel starvation do this?

Or could it be possiblly a electronic part in the tranny??

Thanks for the help!!!!!

might be a speed sensor. it's in the tail of the trans. mine went on my 99 and it had trouble choosing what gear to go into.

Before you do anything , test to see what you need to do , just opening the TPS for cleaning , could - if nothing is wrong with it , shorten the life of it .
There are a number of things that cause this , only testing will determine what action you should take .
Brake switches are known as one possibility , also the TPS , and about that yr. model , there were some reports of the wiring harness rubbing through , coming from the alternator & others , so getting some good diagnostics will save money 7 grief .

MIght try a search here on "transmission hunting". You'll find much reading. May just need to clean some grounds or isolate a wire. It's often times the wire by the alt. going to the pass. side battery.

The chiltons says I dont have a TPS, it says I have a APPS. Could this be the problem? I'll check the connection to it and others.

First you need to describe it better.
Is it converter clutch lock-unlocking?
This is ussually electrical noise. Clean battery posts, add a noise filter. Search it.

The wire chaffing sounds more common now that it's been mentioned. Look at/near ac compressor at all the wires.
