I was "leaning hard on mine the other day in 4th gear and all a sudden I hear like a siren.... goes up and down with the gas pedal.
I thought I blew off the intercooler hose or something.
I shut it off, and the sound slowly comes to a stop..."whining down"
I feel it in the shifter handle.
my wife says it sounds like its coming from under the truck....(tranny???)
My truck is a hard charging beast. It will spin the tires in 1,2,3,4,5 gears untill the clutch started slipping in 5th. I am sure someone has had this problem show up.....any ideas?

I looked at the turbo and it looks OK from what I can see.no oil, and no broken fins etc.. I just don't know if the tranny is capeable of making these sounds.

Sounds more like your clutch is coming apart and something is dragging on the bellhousing.

I had a friend listen to it today and he put his hand on the turbo while I reproduced the sound....He said he can actually feel something contacting inside the turbo housing.....
Looks like I need a new HX35!

Bearings are shot and the impeller is hitting the housing don't keep driving it.
