track bar replacement

Just put in another starter, may as well replace the track bar while at it. Can't get the frame side ball joint to sit in place. I am doing this solo, am having hard time gettting the ball joint to fit in place. I think it would be easy with someone turning the wheel while I steer the ball joint in place. Any suggestions..... am getting cold and ****** off here! Please and thankyou.

Hook a ratchet strap from the frame to the axle. You can suck it up into position pretty easy.

track bar

Thanks for the help regarding strap. I finally called my girlfriend and 2 minutes later I had it home. Grrr. Haven't had a good go on the highway yet where I had the worst of the wandering happening. Hopefully handles better, certainly starts better.

As mentioned, a ratchet strap will work. I've often used a come-along the same way. Last one I did, I just got out from under the truck and turned the steering wheel a bit one way, and it helped align things enough for me to do it alone.
