Problems And I need help

Here's what's happening. Truck in my sig. Last week I get a CEL. It came in on the dash as a 0500 ( speed sensor I think), hooked the scanner up and got a 0341 (camshaft sensor). I cleared them and no more problem???? This morning The truck is acting starnge again. The tach went to zero, not shifting right like when at a stop sign it would die, another CEl. I get it home and the dash had 1694 & 1693. Hook the scanner up get the 0384 again. My question is will the CPS cause these problems? Thanks for the help...... Mitch

It sure will. Mine did the same as you describe. Your sensor may be behind the starter or under the VP44 on the back of the front cover. I know my 2001.5 has it on under the VP44. Yours still maybe be behind the starter on the block if its an early 01.

Check out your local Cummins, gonna be way cheaper than Dodge dealer...

Ya I went and looked at it. I repaired the power steering seal and thought maybe I hadn't plugged it right. But that's something I did right.......

So anything I should know about changing this out? Just remove and replace?

According to ALLDATA, just remove and replace, put a little oil on the o-ring.
