Check your overflow valve, it may be stuck open.

The relief valve is closed and it works. When i pump up the the pressure with the lift pump it makes a squeeking sound at the relief, that tells me that its working. The part i don't get is that i parked the truck running, found out that one of the tubes on the pump was loose, so i tightened it, and now no fuel pressure to injectors. i htink i'm missing something small but i can't quite figure it out!!is it a blown injector pump ?

One of the tubes was loose??? Was it #5 injection line that was loose? Pull the AFC housing off & see if you can move the rack. The reason I asked if was #5 is because on the 94-95 pumps had an issue with #5 splitting & causing problems.

pumps gotta come off. Look for a good used one, I just sold a 1997, 180hp for 1k outright, I'm sure there's some more kicking around. If you can find a 215hp, came in 96-98.5 5spd trans, that's the best pump to get. Look at the tag on the side of the pump, Bosch # 0 402 736 913 or last 3 digits can be 887 are the 215hp models. Fixing yours is an option, but because of its lack of performance, I'd suggest getting a later model used one.
