Overdrive-Cruise-AC-Charge Quit

Hi All, Yesterday on trip of 400 miles coming home all four things would quit for no reason? and some times when slowing down hill it would shift from OD to 3 but when i gave it throttle it would go back to OD, What a ***** trying to go 60 in 3 gear for 200 or so miles with your foot stuck in the pump at 3100, Any idea's?? Thank's Larry

What year truck? Sounds like an ESS problem , it's down on the front of the engine above the dampener , check the wiring going to the sensor too.

What he said. '92 - '98 trucks need the crank sensor to tell the PCM that the engine is running or all that stuff won't work.

I bet it's a 1st gen because he didn't mention the tach dying.

I thought of sensor but this comes and goes from 5 sec. to 4 hours???? Maybe the controler or bad conection. After getting to my dist. we put trickle charger on for 1 1/5 hrs, next day put 300 on untell next crash.

Check the wiring at the sensor. Fairly common for them to get cut or worn thin as well.

I think i found it

Just went out to look for anything and the first thing i see is bolt missing on T P S and one about to fall out, Hope thats it? Now to find a new bolt? Readjust tps. Is it SAE or metric

Well after getting new bolt and adjust it seems to be ok, While i was in there gave the pump screw 1 more turn now she gets with it pretty good. Thanks
