No reverse lights???

Angry No reverse lights???

I've noticed that my reverse lights are not working any more, I've tried wigglying the shifter but they don't light up at all. I have'nt checked it out too far yet, thought I would ask you guys here what you think it could be... anyone else have this problem? thanks guys

Fuse or, Bu light switch. That would be where I would start.

If it's like the 47RE trans, the switch is on the drivers side of the tranny above the pan. It's a neutral safety switch.

I'd bet fuse #38 is shot. Center pin (backup lites) of the trailer hitch probably was shorted during trailer hookup. It's a common problem because older trailers connectors use that pin for other functions. Keep us posted, Nat

If the fuse is OK, I'd check the bulbs and then check the tranny switch.

sorry havent responded earlier, thanks everyone for the help, i checked #38 fuse and it was burnt, so i gotta go get a fuse. thanks again

I had this problem with my 98, but fuse was good, switch on tranny was apparently not. Rather than mess with it then and lose a bunch of fluid, I waited till I was installing a Transgo kit to check it out. I found that the switch was misadjusted in the transmission and added an o-ring to the sealing gasket to increase clearance. Problem solved.
