Question No Oil Pressure!!

Hi all,

I have a 1999 3500 Dually with the Cummins Diesel.

On the way home today, the oil pressure gauge dropped to zero and the "Check Gauges" light came on.

Is there a sending unit that should be checked and if so, how do I check it?

The truck seemed to be fine before the gauge went to zero and continued to seem fine until I shut it down.

What do I need to check to see where my problem is??

Thanks,
Jim

Welcome to the site.
Nice choice of year for the truck.

The oil pressure senders have a reputation for going down for the count.

Number 22 is the oil pressure sender location.
Buy the replacement from Cummins instead of the dealer and save yourself some bucks.
It's the exact same part.

Cummins part number 3408428
Dodge part Number 5012991ab

Do you by chance have some kind of index to go the the componant picture you sent? I would be great to identify other items too.

Thanks,

Go to http://wsl.cummins.com/ServiceLocato...servicelocator
Type in your info, and you'll get the names and addresses of Cummins parts distributors in your area.
Or check you local Yellow Pages for truck parts.
