No oil pressure??

Man, what a week.

Just finished with my Heat problem and a new thermostat and now what?.......

Got in my truck tonight to go home from a school function for my kid, and ?. Light comes on "check Gages"!

What gives. No reading on my stock oil pressure gage. Truck seems to run ok. Check oil - looked under truck and could not see any leaks.

What gives? Gage pack it in?

Is there a Sensor?

Easy fix?

Please help

PK

Most likely an oil psi sending unit, whoops! Mispelled that, it should read oil $ending unit.

Yeah, try to go to a Cummins dealer first, they are much cheaper than the local dodge dealer. The Cummins part # is 4088390 and is about $77.00 and the Mopar # is 5012991ac and is about $190.00. Good luck on your fix. cumminsboy

OK Not a good week for me.......
Dealer said "It most likely is the Sending unit" Need to try a new one in it.
$299.00 for the Sender and about $100.00 Labour.
We are not impressed. I know stop complaining.... do it yourself!
No time and it looks like a tuff one to get at. Also very concerned about any "Flashing" that would be needed.

Any Canadians Had similar problems..... what did you pay?

Pk,

The oil pressure sensor IS NOT HARD TO REPLACE.

Do it yourself. You can reach it with a 1 1/4 deep socket and about 18 inches of extension on your ratchet. Look through the wheel liner on the drivers side and you can see the sensor. Unplug it from the top, and then go through the wheel well to remove and replace. Mine was $83 (US) from Cummins, and took about 15 minutes to replace.

Do a search and see if you can find better instruction then mine.

PK,

I have had this same problem before. Check this thread and see if it helps. Will try to put the link below. If it does not work search for "Oil Pressure Question?".
