My 5 speed in my 99 3500 is shot.
Who sells a quality rebuild nv4500? good price with 5th gear fix and other upgrades.
Any ideas? I have to order a new one in the morning.

 

Try Blumentahls Heavy Duty, out of OKC. Just did a 4500 conversion on my 1st gen, pretty **** sweet. Call there, ask for medium duty, then ask for Alan, tell him Mark outta Vegas told you about them ! www.blumenthalmfg.com

I talked to ATS with $2600 nv 4500, has bronze syncros with 5th gear fix and hardened shafts and gears, uses regular oil.

Blumenthal $1600 with bronze syncros and 5th gear fix, uses regular oil.

$1000 ebay/Autozone/Advanced etc... no 5th gear fix and fiber syncros, takes special oil.

What is the best route to take?

 

For a 4500, like I just said, I went with Blumenthals, so far this thing is the cats meow! ALMOST willing to try a 5600 from them, sick and tired of the one in the '03. Talk to Alan, he will do you right! Shipping is not too painful either, and IIRC, core charge is only $750 for a 4500.

I got more good referances for them than everyone else combined. Why not a longer warranty? I guess 6mon/1 year/2 year whatever they all should last that long. 5th gear fix and bronze syncros so no expensive Castrol Syntorque needed.
