need help 1st gen VE pump
I have a 90 12 valve, VE pump, all stock except timing. tonight i left home, got to 5th gear and it started slowing like it was out of fuel. I checked the filter, full, checked fuel pressure, spraied me when i loosened the supply line from the filter, pumped up the lift pump again(untill the arm quit moving) and loosened the return line at the pump, again good fuel flow, nothing to the injectors still? I left the switch on,checked for power at the sol on the pump, 12 volts to both wires and when i unplug the shut off sol i hear a click? Can the screw in sol be not letting it get fuel? If so, how do i disable that thing? I dont mind using a cable to shut it off , i just dont want to take apart the pump unless i have to?? Any one have a solution? Thank's Much!!....bill

I suspect a boost leak or the boost line to the afc housing is loose or cracked. Is it possible that 1 of the supply lines to the lift pump is pinched? Maybe the fuel pin is stuck in.
How is it after you stopped and started again. It would be nice to have a bit more info about symptoms.

Hi Tron, after it slowed down it guit and will not start, just like it is out of fuel except i have lots of fuel everyplace but the injectors? Will the fuel shut off sol unscrew from the pump with out removing the top of the pump? Even though i can hear it click, mabey the plunger is stuck? Thank's!

Just for good measure, yes you can get the solenoid out of the pump with it on the engine, you going to have to break or cut part of that metal that on the back of the pump. Take it off and remove the plunger and the spring, then put it back on. At least that will remove that from the list of possible causes.

Thank's JD, i removed the fuel shut off and spun the engine and had lots of fuel blow out of the hole but still nothing but a little foam at the injectors with the spring and plunger removed?:"(and the sol back in to plug the hole) I tink it be dead!!I (it is making me feel like it still has that POS nopower stroke in it Ha Ha )
