i asked this question but no one could answer. so i will try again. my 2003 48re tranny lite is popping on once and a while tranny seems fine .it comes on right after i start up or 30 minutes later. please give me some kind of answer. thanks ratman.this is the temp lite

 

According to mine service manual the temp sensor is in the valve body and tied in with the governor pressure sensor. It could be failing if the lamp is coming on at startup. it's all I got.

 

posible bad sensor, you need to have the codes pulled from it

 

thanks , is this part replacable. or can i get to it with taking the tranny apart.

 

Yes it is replacable. It is attached to the valve body. Follow the wring harness, it should be the last item 4pin coonector side corner of valvebody. i don't know if it can be done without removing the Vb. Diagrams show you should be able to. Get a new one then you can see how it will attach. Sry can't be better help.

and it has ~50 pics of the tranny & G'vnr solenoid.

the temp sensor may be the black plastic thing on the side.
