1. Head gasket blown at right front corner of block (common prob), fluid hitting fan and sending it everywhere.

2. Could be just a pinhole leak in a hose too.

When was the last water pump? Pretty easy to replace and cheap. It is on that side of the engine too! Keep it simple!

thanks for the reply

i checked the hoses and they look good (i dried them off and then started the car...they were still dry)

It seems to be lower then the head gasket.

It seems to be coming from above the pump (from the first picture) at the very top on the left. Im pretty sure thats the A/C pump because it has metal lines going to it.

What could leak just above the A/C Pump??

It is definaly coolant leaking.

If you have access to a radiator pressure checker you could pump it up and find the leak without the engine running. Better to do that than just throwing money at the possible problem.

i got the pump from napa except it doesnt look exactly right. The part from napa has a cover over the fin. Does it make a difference?

The pump had ALOT of play so im very sure thats what was causing the leak. Thanks again for all the help.

Did they give me the wrong pump? Napa is closed now....Ill have to get them tomorrow

yep, that "cover" makes it pump more coolant, more efficiently. I remember when the eftermarket companies started making ones for the small block chevy like that. They were suppoed to flow something like 30% more coolant.
