Exclamation Help, Is steering shaft or steering box wrong!!!

Well Ive had the Borgenson 940 steering shaft sitting around for a while. I painted it up real nice and finally decided to install it today. Old shaft came off easily, but when I tried to connect the box end of the new shaft up----it would not fit. The splines in the Borgenson unit where more corse compared to the OE shaft. Now I noticed something fishy at the box. There is a 3/8 plate between the steering box bracket and the frame. The truck wasnt hit, so I figure this was an attempt to fix some steering alignment....but, could it have been a way for the previous owner to put a different box on it???? Are 2wd and 4wd the same???? Could it be a GM box (gasp!!!), or could summit racing have sent me the wrong shaft. Could somebody pleeeease count the splines on their old shaft. The spline count on the new Borgenson is 30 and @3/4" in diameter, I did not count the ones on the truck right now b/c I had to put it back together to drive it to school -arrrgggghhhhhh

Due to the holiday, not many people on today.

I'm thinking you'll have to wait till tomorrow.
