Help with P0336/P0341
For the last month I have been trying to get codes P0336/P0341 cleared. I have replaced the cam sensor and crank as needed indicated by the codes. I have the banks 6pck and exhaust brake on the truck. The problem starts after driving for about 20-40 miles. Then the truck will give a hiccup and the check engine lite comes on. The truck still drives but I loose some power. After a while I get another hiccup and the air conditioner will stop flowing air into the cab. The fan is on and working and the cool air is there, it's just that the blower seems like it isn't blowing anymore. I loose more power. It seems I loose the bank system. I have taken it back to banks. They have replaced all components and wiring. They say they don't know why this is happening and that it's a dodge problem. I take it to dodge. They have replaced the cam sensor and crank. They say it's the bank system from there. If it sits over night the codes clear and I start all over. This happens if we are towing our 5th wheel or not. The truck still runs just not up to par. I have taken it to a guy who supposedly knows the banks system and diesels well. He had it for 4 days and hasn't been able to identify the problem. Our trailer is sitting until we can get this problem fixed. I'm thinking it may be an electrical issue.Any suggestions or direction would be greatly appreciated. Please hope there is someone out there for us. Thanks, Don with the Dodge
There is a flash update for the 341 code. May not be all of the problem, but I know I've been told that the ECM has a hard time deciphering betwen the cam and crank sensor because of the refresh rate and the signals are very close to one another ? Can't say for sure, but I would try the reflash first.
There is also a known problem of wiring rubbing near the a/c pressure transducer ( near the back of the compressor) It has the 5v reference signal that is given to all of the sensors. If it "grounds" out for a second, that can set the codes too. Actually I would look for that first since it would be free!
Has to be done at a dealer unless some shop pays for the site access and has a DRBIII. I don;t know of any around here that do. Maybe someone will chime in from your area, but most likely a dealer. Again though, check the wiring since it is a known trouble area!

I have the same setup: banks 6pk and exh brake. I've been plaqued with P0336/P0341/P2608 since putting it on 2 years ago. Check out this link: http://autorepair.about.com/library/faqs/bl955h.htm
I can disconnect my Banks, and truck runs perfect, no DTCs. Mine acts up alot when its below 60F. That's due to design of the Dodge. The alternator doesn't charge during startup because the heaters pull more than it can produce. Sometimes, I can start up and quickly get up to 20mph (at which point the alternator kicks in and cuts off the heaters), but it still has a miss every now and then at any speed. Good luck. Let me know how you fare.
