Angry P1693 and P0341 (UPDATE) No Power.

Ok folks,

Here goes. I was almost at work this morning and my check engine light came on. Truck seems to run fine. I got on DTR and found out how to get codes to show up. Well after a quick check it threw these codes:

P1693 and P0341 Camshaft Position Sensor Performance / Rationality

The truck is an 01 Automatic 2-W drive with 97500 miles on the clock. No mods other than fuel pressure and boost gauges. Is this something that would be covered under warranty? If not where do I start to troubleshoot it? Can I keep driving it or should I park it ASAP?

Thanks,

-Dave

I don't see any harm in driving it. I'd take it to the dealer ASAP though. The cam shaft sensor should be covered under warranty since it is part of the engine.

Well,

I decided to bring it in this morning. Drove it in to work, 23mi, then out to the dealer 4mi. When I hit the exit for the dealership the tach went to 0 and the truck lost all power. With it floored it was running 14lb fuel, and 10lb boost. It would not accelerate past 30 mph. I limped it into the dealer and gave them the keys.

Lets hope its under warranty LOL. I was saving up to start bombing it at 100k. I would hate to spend my bomb money on just getting it running again.

The lift pump was replaced not very long ago, and the dealer tech made a comment that there might still be fuel issues. I checked the codes (key on-off) and there were not IP codes showing. Just the cam code.
