P0016 / P0341 I need help

truck stumbles/cuts out repeatdly, these are like 1 second hic-ups.
I have checked everything i know to check, even had it in the shop.
Good air filter, fuel filter, rial pressure ETC. the stumble is getting worse, today is the first time the codes kept coming back after i would clear them with my smarty.

Here's what the smarty says about the codes: P0016-cam shaft timing misaligment.

P0341 Cam shaft positioning signal sensor.

do you think I need to just change these sensors ?? I have been battling this for months now,I need help this tumble is driving me crazy. truck runs awesome other than the stumble.

I was hoping someone else has expeienced this, some guys seem to think my aftermarket remote start could be distorting the cam signal, at this point I'am ready to try anything.

crack injector ??
truck does not smoke other than the smarty.
when I make any changes with the smarty it sometime goes away for awhile.
I removed the smarty and I could still get the truck to stumble under heavy throttle.

normally stumbles around 2k rpm, light or heavy throttle.

What could cause these 2 codes: misaligment, position signal sensor ??

I can tell you that we had seen many vehicles come in with problems that the 'mechanic' (dealer not wanting to do warranty work) said were the remote starts fault, only for us to tear into it and find the problem had nothing to do with the remote start and have to send it back to the dealer for them to fix it with the remote start removed. It's all about the pointing of the finger.

One of the solutions was to check the tone ring for damage/excessive movement.

P0341

INJECTOR DTC’S PRESENT
OTHER DTC’S
CAMSHAFT SENSOR
(K44) SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN
(F855) 5-VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT OPEN
(K916) RETURN CIRCUIT OPEN
(K44) SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
(K44) SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO (F855) 5-VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT
(K44) SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO (K916) RETURN CIRCUIT
(K44) SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE
ECM
INTERMITTENT CONDITION

Looks like maybe the cam sensor is faulty

Do you think this would cause the stumble or more like a hic-up ??

What is the tone ring ??

Im having the same problem with my truck with the same codes. It seems to me like its a wiring harness issue because it only occures when i drive it over rough roads or hit a pothole. I am going to pull apart and clean some of it this week and see if it helps. Ill let you know.

I broke a tooth on my tone ring that caused the same troubles that your describing. Have no idea that how it broke off. Replaced the sensor and tone ring and all was okay.
