Unhappy HELP!!! My P-Pump is dead

Well, the truck in my sig has a slight problem... The injection pump has several scored barrels that are hanging up. The bigger problem; I don't have $1600 for a new one, or even $725 for one of those Pensacola diesel rebuilt pumps. This is my only mode of transportation to work and I am the ONLY employee other than the owner so there are no options to carpool with someone.

This really is a kick in the teeth for me since I am a disabled veteran and don't exactly have many other employment options in the area and I'm already in the red with everyone ... So, I really am at a loss right now because I'm pretty much screwed. Guess all I can do at this point is rant and hope maybe someone has one heck of a deal out there somewhere

yowie, howd the barrels get scored? Im assuming you had an injection shop give you that diagnosis?
A local shop was trying to unload a takeoff used 175hp pump awhile back, dont know if he still has it but Ill ask.

Well, the injection shop only confirmed what I already knew... I am a diesel mechanic by trade, disabled bum via United States Marine Corps I can hear the tick-ity tick-ity tack from the pump side of the engine and it relates with the dead misses

Well, I may have found a deal. but either way it looks like I'm gonna be selling my tractor (listed in sig) to pay for this and a few other bills

250hp pump from an 8.3 that was in a garbage truck for $500. Don't know about a warranty or anything like that and no record of mileage or hours so it's a crap shoot, but what other choice do I have?

Those things look exactly like our p-pumps. Will they work on the 5.9? Gotta be a catch or everyone would be looking for them

nope the input shafts are the EXACT same; the only thing that can give you a headache is piping oil to them and sometimes the fuel return side of things. But I have a fuel pressure regulator on the return side instead of an OFV so I'm golden and I have all the flaring and (proper) bending tools to make the oil lines

I had plans for an Ag P-pump, but since I have yet to find one and I kinda need one, well, yesterday.... I have to stick with the automotive governor for awhile longer. I am going to see if the washer mod works on the 250hp pump as well since I will be able to set it on my bench for the install.

EDIT:

Thanks for the find Rusty; looks to be the exact same as the one at the local junk yard... Just better
