I know, its a Dodge forum, but there are some folks around with Dmaxes. Here's the problem:

My brothers truck had a REAL hard engage out of park the other day after putting his PPE on tune #5. Then the gear indicator would not show what gear was engaged until the shifter was pulled down into first (would not move the truck until in first either). Once in first he can eventually get it into high gear. He re-learned the tranny with his PPE after the above incident and seemed to be fine. However, now it's doing it again (the tuner was returned to the lowest setting), with no other changes.

Any suggestions as to what it might be, or some trick to diagnose it further? He's about 30mi from the shop right now and kind of concerned he won't make it back.
