having trouble installing 3 k GSKs

hey i have everyhting centered in the hole but im having trouble getting the retainer/top portion off to access the springs...been trying with needlenose pliers....is there a trick or somthing?...

should i just be trying to "pop" the retainer off or should i be twisting it?

never mind i got past that no problem...BUt i have a nrew problem we cant get the plug nut back on!! back on the p[ump!! it seems fine i just cant catch the thread what gives?

Don't know, mine was easy. You must have it crossed. Pull a junk socket from your box of about the right diameter and grind the business end away leaving two nubbins to engage the slots on the nut. Then it's easy.

You do need to hold the arm thats 1/2 blocking the plug nut hole out of the way so you dont end up crossthreading it. Kinda like what you needed to to to get the plug nut off the pump when you dissasembled it. HTH. Jim....
